After 9-11, Fr. Lazarus became an Anglican Priest and spent many years as a Chaplain to those suffering mentally, spiritually and physically. His extraordinary teaching manner shows people how to suffer well according to their Orthodox Faith through the Art of Dying he developed for those he has been privileged to “walk Home” to the Lord.

Fr. Lazarus is not your ordinary Christian who ministers. A one-time Wall Street Trader, he is a Russian Orthodox priest in the ROCA Diocese and is married with six children. Yes, he’s still sane!

His PhD biographical dissertation incorporates his life experiences and deals specifically with the subjects of illness, suffering and dying. He focuses on showing people how to use their mortality to understand immortality – by working out their salvation through their suffering. Seeing people tethered to the love of Christ is his passion.

Fr. Lazarus’s ministerial philosophy is Cor ad cor loquitur, Latin for “heart speaks to heart.”

He continues to minister to the sick, the broken and those in need of crisis counseling, anchoring God’s love to people of all backgrounds through teaching, podcasts, speaking engagements and published articles – sharing his exceptional life and passion for giving Christ’s love to all.

In addition to his extensive biblical knowledge, Fr. Lazarus’s scholarly pursuits include studies in Patristic Nosology, Health Care Ethics and the Science of Healing the Soul.
